Natural gas-powered car gets 70 miles per gallon

Inventor John Green told his son about nine years ago that he was going to build a three-wheeled, natural-gas-powered car. As one would think, his son told him he was crazy.

But now, as Green’s dream is becoming a reality, he predicts the Eco-Fueler will rival vehicles produced by the big three American automakers.

Green was at Buchart-Horn on West Philadelphia Street in York Tuesday to show the model of his car.

The teardrop-shaped, NASCAR- inspired vehicle has the look of an F-16 fighter-jet melded with a 1932 Ford Roadster.

Even the cockpit looks a little like something out of “Top Gun.

Fueled by soaring gasoline prices, the 70-miles-per-gallon car is sparking interest across the country and in England.
