More than 400 skyscrapers to be built over next 10 years

Burj Dubai

CNN does a piece on the skyscraper boom in Asia and the Middle East.  Above is a picture of the partially finished Burj Dubai skyscraper, set to be the world’s tallest tower on completion in 2008.

Dubai’s Burj Dubai is rumored to be heading toward 2,500 feet, which would be much taller than the current record-holder, Taipei 101, which stands at 1,671 feet.

Three other skyscrapers approved for construction in South Korea also are expected to be taller than Taipei 101, as is the Freedom Tower in New York.
